01. Cable quality problem
If the cable is of poor quality, there will be unqualified problems such as structure, wire size, wire resistance and insulation sheath, which will shorten the service life of the cable, and even seriously lay hidden dangers for the normal operation of the power system.
02 Temperature factor
In hot summer, when the temperature of the cable is too high, the aging of the insulation will be accelerated, resulting in the breakdown of the insulation, which will cause the failure and affect the service life of the cable.
03 Damp insulation
If the newly purchased cable is not used up, the remaining cable ends are wrapped with plastic paper casually, and the sealing is not good. Water vapor will seep into the cable, causing the conductor to oxidize and blacken, resulting in the increase of conductor resistance, causing the cable to heat during use, thus affecting the service life of the cable.
04. Chemical corrosion
If the cable is directly buried in the area with acid-base effect, the acid-base degree of the soil will corrode the cable's armor, lead skin, insulation, and sheath protection layer. The corrosion time will be long, accelerating the aging of the cable insulation material, and reducing the insulation resistance, resulting in cable accidents.
05. Human reasons
Overload of the cable causes the cable to heat up, and the cable heats up for a long time, which accelerates the insulation aging and reduces the insulation performance, making the cable insulation layer easy to be broken down and affecting the service life of the cable.
